A New Day, A New Look … on Everything

What began as a simple goal of making my blog look better a few weeks ago became a sudden priority last night after being told that I won’t be employed with my current employer after this week essentially.  I need to put a good face forward and since my blog is the first thing that comes up when you Google my name, I decided to put in an all-nighter and get business taken care of.

So thusly, welcome to my new theme for StevenHaddox.com. Read the rest of this entry »

To my Internet Explorer Readers:

I just had a friend tell me the other day that my blog would spit out an error when they tried to load it and die. Well I’ve had no problems on my system, or any other system I’ve been on. So I know it works in Firefox, Opera, and Safari. I also know it works on IE7 (sort of, some of the CSS / special effects aren’t quite right). But the functionality is there. This left one main culprit - you guessed it - IE6.

I booted up the dedicated VM (Virtual Machine) just for checking IE 6 and tried to load the page…. some weird error popup and death. WOOT! Read the rest of this entry »

Pink for October

StevenHaddox.com has gone Pink for October! I know I’m a week late getting my site updated, but when we do updates we do them in full-force. Given that I have so many women in my life that are so important to me (wife, newborn daughter, mother, etc) I felt it was only appropriate to take one month of my time and dedicate my site to them. I may make some improvements on the appearance of the site over the next month, but if nothing else at least my links and text are tickled pink :) You can see my site listed on the official site as site #501.

While we are on the topic of updates, you’ll notice that I’ve modified my URL links,
I’ve fixed my URL masking issues, and I’ve improved my image and media support.
StevenHaddox.com is now fully functional to the state that I’ve always wanted
it to be in.

Testing WP-Wetfloor Plugin

Hacker Stevie

This is a quick sample of what one simple plugin (wp-wetfloor) and a few minutes of research can do. Now instead of having to redesign all of my icons at the top of my blog, I can simply upload the actual images and apply the class=”reflect” to them and they will automatically become reflective and transparent in the exact same manner as they are now, but they will do it on any color of background dynamically changing to fit their environment.

I LOVE CSS & JavaScript :)
